Making Appointments

Appointments can be made by phoning the practice or using our online booking system. Booking an appointment enables your doctor to manage their time to accommodate all their patients needs.

Longer Appointments

If you think you may need extra time with your doctor, please advise the receptionist when making your appointment to ensure your doctor will have enough time for your needs.

After Hours Service

If you need a doctor after hours, please call 13 26 60 after 4pm and your call will be answered by the Doctor Doctor Service.

Results

Your doctor will advise when they expect results to arrive at the practice.  In most cases, we will call you to book an appointment for abnormal results, however, please call the clinic to make an appointment if required or you are concerned.

Fees & Payments

Hampstead Drive Medical Centre is a mixed billing clinic, patients 16 years and under and 80 years and over are bulk billed.  All other patients will be privately billed. Our fee is $80 for a standard consultation or $140 for a long consultation.
 
Please note that on Saturdays ALL patients will be privately billed regardless of their age. Saturday appointment fees have increased from 15 March 2025. The fee will be advised when making your appointment online via hotdoc or via reception staff when booking your appointment.
 
Other services, procedures and consultations offered by the clinic may incur a private fee regardless of age. This fee will be discussed with you at the time of making that booking.
 
Full Payment is required on the day of your appointment and can be made in cash or by eftpos.  Partial rebates are available from Medicare and our receptionists will arrange for your Medicare rebate to be processed.  
 
All patients on WorkCover or TAC must make payment for their consultations on the day. Patients are liable to follow up reimbursement from the appropriate institutions. 
 
Non attendance and late cancellation (less than 2 hours) will incur a $50 fee per allocated slot time ie: if your appointment is for 2 slots the fee will be $100 and so on.

We accept cash, credit card and EFTPOS, excluding Diners and AMEX.

Gold card DVA patients’ fees are covered fully by DVA.

Services

Hampstead Drive Medical Centre will see patients for all conditions which require the care of a General Practitioner.

Treatments can include suturing of wounds, treatment of burns and plastering of fractures as well as coordination of x-ray or pathology tests and Iron Infusions. Most Pathology tests can be performed at the clinic for you.

Pathology Services

Melbourne Pathology is currently located on site for patients’ convenience. They work on a numbering system so there is no need to make an appointment.

Translator Services

For patients with language difficulties, a free translator and interpreter service can be used by
